Nordic expands to the German market

Travel agent Nordic, known for summer and winter travel to Scandinavia, is entering a new market. After expanding with an office in the Netherlands and a team of experts for French-speaking clients, Nordic decides to focus on the German market as well. German clients can now also turn to Nordic to book a customized trip or package tours to the High North.

Nordic Germany is launching a series of winter trips to Lapland and sea trips along the Norwegian coast with Hurtigruten. To offer travelers the necessary comfort, a new direct flight to Lapland will also be organized from Düsseldorf. Sea trips with the Hurtigruten post ships can also be embarked from any airport in Germany.

On a continued expansion course

In addition to the trips to Lapland and the sea trips with Hurtigruten, Nordic Germany intends to rapidly expand its product range to include more destinations in Scandinavia. This shows once again that despite the corona pandemic, Nordic continues to grow.

What started as a niche company “Norway Info” in 1980 has grown since Maarten Raes took over in 2008 into a travel brand offering winter and summer trips to various destinations in Scandinavia and far beyond. The makeshift office in Maarten’s living room was soon exchanged for several offices and service points in Flanders and Brussels, the Netherlands and Germany.

A perfect match with the German market

Nordic has become the biggest player in Belgium for Scandinavia travel thanks to a varied product range and an expert team with three offices in Belgium. A year ago, the company then opened an office in Nieuwegein, entering the Dutch market. Hugo van Drie, who for the past 19 years has worked for Eliza was here, Jiba and Sunweb, among others, is head of the German and Dutch market.

“Research has shown that the wishes of the German market perfectly match our unique products. We are therefore confident that this expansion will be successful. We are enthusiastic about what we do and can’t wait to get more Germans excited about traveling to Scandinavia,” says Van Drie.

That Van Drie sees great potential in the German market is understandable. The trend in the tourism industry is increasing towards conscious travel with an emphasis on nature, away from well-trodden paths and overwhelming crowds. Nordic also sees a growing interest in winter vacations that offer more activities than just skiing.

Diverse and unique offers

Nordic is the reference for authentic travel experiences in Scandinavian nature and wants to become the same in Germany. The travel company wants to do this through diversity in its offer (e.g. family vacations, nature vacations, sporting trips, culinary or cultural trips) and through diversity in terms of accommodation. For example, at Nordic you can sleep in a hotel made of ice or in a tree house in the Swedish wilderness.

The Travel Designers impress with their experience and expertise. They know the regions like the back of their hand and always put customer satisfaction first. In this way they guarantee travel, according to the needs and wishes of their customers. The German-speaking team – consisting of qualified Travel Designers and marketers – can always be reached via phone or mail.

About Nordic

Nordic is the specialist for trips to the High North, in Belgium and the Netherlands, and is ambitious to conquer the German market as well. Along with the market launch, Nordic Germany is therefore launching a new website: www.nordic.de. In this market, too, the emphasis lies on authentic experiences in nature, based on expert knowledge and a personal approach.
