Hurtigruten

Leading the way in sustainable sea travel

Cruise ships unfortunately often have a bad reputation for being harmful to the environment, but this is where Hurtigruten stands out from many other shipping companies. The Norwegian shipping company has been at the forefront of sustainable sea travel for years. In 2019, Hurtigruten’s first hybrid-powered ship was launched, and that is just the beginning. On board, no (single-use) plastic is used anymore and various initiatives also contribute to the preservation of flora and fauna.

Explore The North

Respect for people and the planet

Nordic works closely with Johan and Sara in Lapland. They run Explore the North and own some of the lodges in the Swedish wilderness. They operate their business with a focus on protecting people, animals and the planet. For example, transfers are limited and local products are used in the restaurants.

Brussels Airlines

Air travel for the future

Nordic works closely with Brussels Airlines. We offer a direct flight to Lapland through the airline, both in summer and winter. These flights are very efficient for our travellers: in just three hours you can be in Lapland, where your adventure can begin right away. Unfortunately air travel is associated with environmental pollution, as aviation is responsible for the emission of many greenhouse gases.

Brussels Airlines, the market leader in Belgium, tries to limit its ecological footprint. The airline does so with a well thought out climate plan based on four objectives. Through technological progress, improved infrastructure, operational measures and product modifications, Brussels Airlines is reducing its emissions.

Corendon

Air travel with an eye for the future

From the Netherlands, you can fly to Lapland with Nordic from Amsterdam Schiphol. The operator of the flight, Corendon, is committed to reducing the CO₂ emissions of its employees and to purchasing goods and services sustainably.

Eurowings

Sustainable over the clouds

From Düsseldorf, Eurowings takes you to winter wonderland Lapland. Eurowings is investing in aircraft models that consume 3700 tonnes less CO₂ per aircraft per year. The airline aims to be CO₂-neutral on the ground by 2030 and to reduce net CO₂ emissions by half. By 2050, the airline aims to operate emission-free on board and ground.
Environmental protection is also high on the list at Düsseldorf Airport. By 2030, CO₂ emissions are to be reduced by two thirds through renewable resources. By 2045, the airport wants to be completely emission-free.

Quality and sustainability first

When you buy travel gear from Vaude, you can be sure it will last you for years. In addition, much of the clothing sold here is made from sustainable materials, the shop even obtained several certificates. Not only does Vaude contribute to sustainability in this way, but also in the workplace. Vaude does everything to promote diversity, fair wages and a healthy work-life balance.

Bever

Sustainability begins at Bever

Bever wants to make its products as sustainable as possible in the shortest conceivable time. They aim to extend the lifespan of the products you buy from them, so that products do not need to be renewed again and again. With a washing service and repair service, you can give your products a new lease of life again and again. In addition, many of the clothes are made from sustainable materials and only green electricity is used in the shop.
